Hargeisa March, 10 2022 (MoFD)The PFM Coordination Unit of the Ministry of Finance Development organized a certificate presentation event for 219 (47 female) civil servants and business sector representatives who completed two critical financial management courses, namely; Domestic Revenue Mobilization certificate-level course, which included Revenue Mobilization, Tax, and Tax Accountin.
The two-year course was taught using a combination of university tutoring, tutor mentors, and an online e-learning system. A total of 52 students benefited from this training (10 Female) while 167 students (37 female) have successfully completed an 8-month diploma level course in government financial management.
The course familiarized tax officials with the basic framework and knowledge of how tax systems work and how this can be applied to Somaliland, this course has provided a basic understanding of international best practices and ongoing tax reforms by training all government staff involved in revenue administration and management of public finances.
The certificates were jointly awarded by the Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Ali shire and the Executive Director of the Civil Service Institute Mr Omer Qalonbi
