Director General of the Somaliland Ministry of Finance Mr. Mohamed Hussein Osman along with the Director of the Customs Department Mr. Faysal Aden Yusuf laid the foundation stone for the building of Dabo-Goryale Customs Branch in Dadmadheedh Region while the former custom’s building was rented.
The stone-breaking ceremony was attended by the Governor of Daadmadheedh Mr. Abdirahin Muhamed Ahmed, Deputy Mayor of Oodwayne District Mr. Mahmoud Ma’alin Ahmed, Vice-Commander of the Somaliland Revenue Protection Police Division Major: Yasin Ismail Shiil, Commander of the Daadmadheedh Regional Police Division Captain: Ismail Ali Hassan, members from the Oodweyne District Council, elders and intellectuals from the local community who spoke at the event inaugurating for the custom’s new building established in the border area of Dago-Gorayale under the Daad-Madheedh Region, all welcomed this project that has been added to the developmental projects implemented in this town.
The Dabo-Goryaale custom branch office is located in an important place, serving for the taxpayers and generally community of Dadmadheedh and Togdheer regions. This new Customs building which financed by the Somaliland Ministry of Finance will contain the offices of the Revenue Protection Unit, the revenue collection offices and all the services required from customs.
Finally, the Director General and the officials who accompanied him on the work trip, after the foundation stone ceremony of the Dabo-Goryaale Customs Branch, came to the M/Jeh Region and ended their trip with supervising at the Ina-Guha Custom in Salahlay District, where they held meetings and exchanged reports with the custom manager, Salahlay district officials and some of the traders who use the Custom. It was agreed there to work together to fight smuggling, while the officials of the Ministry of Finance have promised that any complaints reported from their side will be dealt with quickly by following the rules and regulations.
