A delegation consisting of Ministers of the Ministries of Finance Development and National Planning of the Republic of Somaliland Dr. Saad Ali Shire, Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Dirrie (Toorno), directors of departments and experts from both ministries who are in Nairobi, Kenya, held talks with more than 16 members represent donors who support Somaliland.
Official numbering up to 40 members representing donors and the Government of Somaliland from the two Ministries of Finance and Planning, Departmental Directors and Heads of Somaliland Embassy in Kenya agreed that grants providing to Somaliland should be coordinated and based on the National Development Plan 3 {NDPII}, so those donations to be effective and lead development to the country.
In particular, priority should be given to funding the development of livestock, agriculture, fish, water, roads, renewable energy and other areas that are related to these sectors.
The parties also discussed working together to strengthen the stability and the stability of the region of the Horn of Africa, democracy, Somaliland elections and the development of Somaliland’s economy, with an emphasis on job creation for the youth, balance of development {establishing a just and sustainable economic system for reducing poverty} and greening of the environment.
