……………………………………………………………………………………….The National Committee for Inflation Control and Increasing the Value of The National Currency based on the importance of using the SLSH currency, as it is the national and legal tender of the country, and bearing in mind the negative effects that may result due to instability in the value of the country’s currency, they held consultations with the most important public institutions, businessmen and various economic experts and issued the following decisions:
⦁ It is directed to all traders and organizations that provide different services such as; Private schools, universities, electricity companies, medical facilities and goods sellers to base their selling services or goods on Somaliland Shillings {National currency}.
⦁ All money changers, various traders and companies that provide services for sending money to each other through telephones, banks and financial institutions are instructed to follow the daily exchange rate issued by the Central Bank of Somaliland.
⦁ It is ordered that the companies that provide the services of sending money by phone and banks with electronic systems (WAAFI, Dahab-plus, POS, Premier Wallet etc.) to stop any method and process that facilitates the transfer any amount less than $100 (One Hundred Dollars).
⦁ The private banks are instructed to facilitate the financing they provide, in order to open business and create jobs.
⦁ All private banks are instructed to open accounts based on SLSH money for the public. These decisions will be effective no later than 25 November 2023, Insha Allah.
⦁ Anyone who does not comply with this decision will be subject to legal action.
