Hargeisa 01 September, 2022 [MoFD] – The Economic Sub-Committee of the Somaliland’s cabinet of the ministries accompanying by the preparatory committee met today to discuss and announced National Economic Forum which is scheduled to be held in Hargeisa at 10th – 12th September, 2022, if Allah allows. The forum will be participated by the key stakeholders and during the forum it will be discussed and analyzed on the current economic situation, with the hope that measures will be taken to solve the financial burdens exist. This preparatory workshop which was took place at the head-quarter of Ministry of Finance was chaired by the Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Ali Shire, who is also the chairman of this sub-committee.
As we are all aware, we as a country are facing economic conditions that we share with the rest of the world, which include the rise in the price of various commodities, the effects of the Covid-19 restrictions, the climate change that has brought us frequent droughts, food in-security, the impact of our business on the burning of the Hargeisa Central Market of Waheen which caught fire earlier this year and other similar things, which have brought us hardships.
So, based on the current circumstances, it was necessary to hold a meeting, in which the stakeholders are expected to scientifically analyze the root cause of the challenges and find solutions to the national economy circumstances during the conference.
