There were meetings that took place at the headquarter of the Togdheer Regional Governor that were discussed how to accelerate the performance of the region’s revenue offices, the meeting which was took part by officials from the Ministry of Finance led by the Director General Mr. Mohamed Hussein Osman (Mu’adinka) and representatives from regional government agencies were attended and chaired by the Governor of Togdheer Mr. Jama Abdullahi (Bein) and his deputy.
One of the meetings was held by the officials of the Ministry of Finance with the heads of the judiciary of Togdheer Region led by the Regional Prosecutor, the Chairman of the Court of Appeal and the chairman of Regional Court of Burco were discussed in the areas of financial laws, enforcement of fines, tax procedures, combating against smuggling and tax evasion.
On the other hand, the officials of the Ministry of Finance had meeting with office representatives of the regional government agencies, which were included the Local Government of Burco, Burco Water Agency, the Regional Bank Branch and the Burco General Hospital. .
During the meeting, it was discussed how to take a big responsibility for the collection revenues from taxes on bills, stamp taxes and also how to work together on the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax {GST}. During those meetings the officials of the Ministry of Finance specifically mentioned and thanked the Burco Water Agency, saying that they have done a good job in managing the revenue of Stamps.
Finally, these business trips that the officials of the Ministry have been making in some of the regions and districts of the country are part of the six-month campaign recently announced by the Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Ali Shire in which this six month were focused on strengthening the cooperation of the Ministry and other Government Agencies as well as knowing and reacting to any complaints from the customers and Ministry’s partners.
