The annual headline inflation1 rate at the start of the 4th quarter of 2019 slightly fell to 4.0% in October from the 4.1% registered the previous month, before rising to 5.3% in November and subsequently falling to 5.1% in December. The average inflation rate in the fourth quarter of 2019 was 4.8%, slightly higher than the 4.3% registered in the third quarter.
The Ministry of Finance Development derives its mandate from the Constitution of Somaliland, which provides for proper budgetary and expenditure management of the government financial resources. It also has a responsibility for ensuring that systems are in place for efficient monitoring and reporting of all Government’s transactions.
