Vision

To be a leading department for the facilitation and delivery of essential financial and administrative serves.

Mission

To maintain the day-to-day financial and administrative functions of MoFD by providing timely support to other departments and staff in a spirit of excellence and dedication.

Objectives

  1. Provide clear administrative support to all departments.
  2. Implement all financial regulations and policy guidance to support the goals and objectives of the Ministry;
  3. Develop and manage the departmental budget;
  4. Promote efficient use of departmental resources;
  5. Assist the internal controls and provide all documents needed with consultation of the Ministers and the Director General;
  6. Promote a culture of openness, trust, diversity, and equality within the Department;
  7. Improve communication and collaboration with customers and build a support relationship;
  8. Provide employees with a work environment where teamwork is paramount, ideas are rewarded, creativity and risk-taking are encouraged, and successes are celebrated.

Departmental Strategies

  1. Focus on the Ministry of Financial Development budget management and long-term financial planning.
  2. Utilize and implement all financial rules and regulations.
  3. Give a priority to the Revenue department and other supportive departments, to ensure timely and accurate financial statements (internal and external) and to assist in decision-making.
  4. Implement the controllership function for the Ministry by providing and applying Effective Work.
  5. Maximize the capacities and opportunities provided by the Somaliland Financial Management Information System.
  6. Sustaining a positive work environment and strong employee commitment within the Administrative Services and Finance Department.
  7. Capacitating and motivating the Staff of the department.
